Looking for tech help.
Hello again from sunny, hot as hell Temecula. I have been working on setting up a bunch of different websites based on an advertising business model but with expansive plans. To do so I have had to learn more about computers than I ever planned on. All this just to have the needed skills to make the network possible, the site designed and the programing developed. If anyone is a fellow tech head, writer, photographer, graphic designer, coder, and business freak like myself and would like to help out in some way for a piece of the profits let me know.
I am trying to set up a development machine using Linux (Ubuntu and Kubuntu) with MySql, PHP5 and running on Apache2. I also would like to run some sites with Ruby on Rails. If all is succesful I am thinking of dedicating one of my home computers as a server if I can do this securely. I know it is possible but I am having trouble configuring the system. On my Mac I have been able to set up ROR sites with little difficulty but I am not ready to go to production mode. There is still a lot to learn before going public.
It is really fun watching this little network website grow and I would like to be able to share the profits in creating some dynamic websites based on networking just like this one. What is nice about having a startup is needing help and being able to get some fairly quickly. But what is really cool is being able to build something lasting that will help people. People can help with Photos, Tech stuff, writing and more. There is always something that needs to be done.
