Merry Xmas, again

Well, another year has slipped past and we survived. Next year I hope is better than this one. I just wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It's too bad this site isn't used very often. Ning has a provided the means to build a nice social networking site and Jen was able to take advantage of it. I hope it gets a bit more traffic, but competing with FaceBook just can't be easy. Best wishes to all and to all, a goodnight. Continue

Pala fail

I was hired by Pala to run the floor, but failed to get my gaming license due to debt. So, no job. I stopped in there after the opening and it looks good. Quite a bit like Harrah's room. I wish them well. Continue

Wishing the Casino people a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday.

This year has been a challenge for everyone. Layoffs were off the charts. The economy is in the toilet with a bleak future for the next year, but there are several points in all of our lives that most of us have to help keep our spirits high. We all have friends, family and associates who provide support, love, caring and, dare I say it, happiness. O.K., not all the time, but hopefully for the majority of the time all of these people make our lives a little bit better than without them. To every… Continue

Looking for tech help.

Hello again from sunny, hot as hell Temecula. I have been working on setting up a bunch of different websites based on an advertising business model but with expansive plans. To do so I have had to learn more about computers than I ever planned on. All this just to have the needed skills to make the network possible, the site designed and the programing developed. If anyone is a fellow tech head, writer, photographer, graphic designer, coder, and business freak like myself and would like to help… Continue

Looking for entrepreneurs.

I was wondering if there were any entrepreneurs out there in our little community. A friend of ours from Pechanga and his wife set up a nice business here in Temecula selling upscale bags (purses), shoes and clothes. A friend from Oceans 11 Casino in Oceanside set up a nice website selling poker related items. Cawa and Mark, respectively, have the right idea. Work for yourself and make yourself rich instead of working for others to help make them rich. Now don't get me wrong. I know the casino… Continue

Hiring lockdown

For table games dealers/floor everything is fine. People can still get work due to the high turnover of the industry but for poker where things move much slower things are a bit harder. Looking around at different clubs in the area have shown that most places simply are not hiring. This is to expected after a boom like we had the past couple of years. There is a huge labor pool for poker right now. Continue

Feeling better.

Well, the antibiotics seem to be doing the trick. I am feeling better than I have for the past three years. Undiagnosed pneumonia really sticks around if it doesn't kill you. Doctors are pretty good once they get a handle on what's bothering you, but in my case, they dropped the ball on finding out what was wrong with me. I smoke, so most of the Dr.'s just wrote off the cough to smoking. Once I was hospitalized and they took x-rays of my chest they could actually see the infection and begin to t… Continue

Play or work?

Today I was fired when I was in the hospital with pneumonia. The joys of working for Soboba Casino in San Jacinto Ca. Ten years in business and they are still one of the poorest ran casino's in the business. Think about the explosion in gambling in the country and in So. Cal in general and then think how Soboba still can't get it's act together in terms of advertising, customer expansion and decent management. Now, my decision is to play or to look for work in a poor economy with ill health. Pu… Continue
