I was hired by Pala to run the floor, but failed to get my gaming license due to debt. So, no job. I stopped in there after the opening and it looks good. Quite a bit like Harrah's room. I wish them well.

Sorry to hear about your recent misfortune. I been out of the country and haven't checked here recently. Playing for a living is always a tough road with no $ coming in as safety net so I hope the cards run good for you.

Thought: I know Pokerstars is giving away some free seats to WSOP, free to qualify couldn't hurt to take a shot somebody's got to win it. I think there's even a pokerstars link the main page to this site, if you don't already have an account. Good luck bud.

Bad news today I'm afraid. Soboba Casino just fired the GM, the head of the finance department and others, myself included. Business was bad and I was in the hospital with pneumonia. What a way to get whacked.

Is Pala in the cards?

With the economy in tatters, finding a job has been rough. Pala is opening a new poker room and I'll find out if I am lucky enough to go back to work in the profession that has chosen me sometime in the next few weeks. Wish me luck.

Wishing the Casino people a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday.

This year has been a challenge for everyone. Layoffs were off the charts. The economy is in the toilet with a bleak future for the next year, but there are several points in all of our lives that most of us have to help keep our spirits high. We all have friends, family and associates who provide support, love, caring and, dare I say it, happiness. O.K., not all the time, but hopefully for the majority of the time all of these people make our lives a little bit better than without them. To every… Continue

Looking for tech help.

Hello again from sunny, hot as hell Temecula. I have been working on setting up a bunch of different websites based on an advertising business model but with expansive plans. To do so I have had to learn more about computers than I ever planned on. All this just to have the needed skills to make the network possible, the site designed and the programing developed. If anyone is a fellow tech head, writer, photographer, graphic designer, coder, and business freak like myself and would like to help… Continue

Looking for entrepreneurs.

I was wondering if there were any entrepreneurs out there in our little community. A friend of ours from Pechanga and his wife set up a nice business here in Temecula selling upscale bags (purses), shoes and clothes. A friend from Oceans 11 Casino in Oceanside set up a nice website selling poker related items. Cawa and Mark, respectively, have the right idea. Work for yourself and make yourself rich instead of working for others to help make them rich.

Now don't get me wrong. I know the casino… Continue

Hiring lockdown

For table games dealers/floor everything is fine. People can still get work due to the high turnover of the industry but for poker where things move much slower things are a bit harder. Looking around at different clubs in the area have shown that most places simply are not hiring. This is to expected after a boom like we had the past couple of years. There is a huge labor pool for poker right now.
