I was wondering if anyone could tell me about Winstar Casino. I recently moved to Oklahoma and was thinking about applying for a job as a blackjack dealer but I wanted more information first. Like what kind of money do the dealers make down there. Are there any benefits. I also heard that they have to pool their tips there. Is that true? If so what does that turn out to be like? Any information would be greatly appreciated. I dont know hardly anyone in this area.
What do you want to know. Was hired in Sept and started class the 3rd week in Sept finished class the 2nd week in October. Shadow dealer for 1 week and then on to dealing as Traninee. I have since gotten certified on Bac, 3 card, UTH, Pai Gow so dealing all games now. Tips are pooled but you know basically some people make good ones and some dont. some nights you make a lot of tips for the pool and some nights you don't make any for the pool.
I have been told that Winstar should be doing another round of blackjack hiring around March. If you have prior experience as a dealer, I would recommend keeping that information to yourself, as Winstar has a strict policy of only hiring non-experienced dealers (there is a reason, but it's a long and stupid one). If hired, you'll go through a dealer training course that does little more than teach you to add to 22. Then you'll be shadowed for a while, how long depending on how well you do. Once you're done with that, you will be put in the normal rotation (and by normal I mean "lower-limit blackjack").
